A Moment of Mindfulness

Thoughts are energy, and as soon as they occur they set in motion vibrations that ripple out through our lives. So easily we reach for our phones as soon as we open our eyes meaning that we are already starting our days being not present and ignoring our thoughts, feelings, or any messages our bodies are trying to send us.

One way we can be present is through the use of simple breathing techniques, such as a body scan, or if a shower is part of your morning routine you can use a mindfulness visualisation while you wash.

Mindfulness in the Morning

1.      Prepare your shower to the desired water temperature. If you have an Elemental Balance & Co. Shower fizzer place it on the base of the shower just inside the waterfall line (the more water the shower fizzer is exposed to the quicker, it will dissolve). If you don’t have a shower fizzer you could diffuse your favourite essential oil via a diffuser in your bathroom (ensuring any electrical equipment is kept a safe distance away from water).

2.      Enter the shower and close your eyes, taking a few slow, deep breaths in and out as the water runs over your body.

3.      Visualise the water washing away any feelings of tiredness or worry you might have about your day. See as the tension, worry or any other negative feelings leave your body and are carried down the drain.

4.      Inhale and notice the fragrance of the essential oils that fill the shower.

5.      Visualise your day unfolding how you would like it to. If your mind wanders just focus on the scent of the essential oils, then return to visualising your day for the best possible outcomes. If you struggle with visualization skip to the step below.

6.      To seal in the positivity,  visualise pure white light falling from the shower head and repeat a positive affirmation, such as the ones below, as many times as you feel necessary (but at least three times)

·       Today I embrace each moment with gratitude and joy.

·       I am surrounded by positivity, love and abundance in all areas of my life.

·       I create my future and today I create positivity and progress.

Evening or Post Healing Visualisation

After a busy day it can being hard to switch off even though you are exhausted. Perhaps you get stuck with replaying interactions and conversations you had during the day or you are already making your mental to do list for the following day. Here is a visualisation that is ideal for after an Energy healing session or after a hard day as it focusses on returning to self and releasing any energy that doesn’t belong to you.

2.      Enter the shower and take three centering breaths trying to make your exhales longer than your inhales.

3.      Starting at the top of your head do a body scan. A body scan is where you systematically bring awareness to the different parts of your body, from head to toe by mentally scanning each part of the body noticing any sensations, tension, or areas of relaxation without judgement. The goal of a body scan is to foster a present-minded awareness and a deeper connection with yourself.

4.      If you locate any areas of tension inhale and send your breath to that area. Visualise the tension being washed away by the water and flowing down the drain.

5.      Repeat to yourself

Today I reclaim my energy and recall it back to myself. I welcome back vitality, strength, and peace.

I release any energy that doesn’t belong to me or that doesn’t serve my highest good.

6.      Visualise the unwanted energy detaching from you like a plug leaving a socket and returning to where it came from with golden or pink light. This same coloured light heals the space on your body or energy field where it left.

7.      Stay here for a few moments. Take a few slow breaths in and out and notice the scents of the essential oils. Stretch out your toes and notice all the points on the soles of your feel as they connect to the floor of the shower. You are grounded and centered.
